Como paso su semana? How was your week? Mine has been pretty fair. It
has been quite the adventure. My District Leader, Elder Olsen, has been
on bed rest and stuck in the apartment all week. My companion and I took
food and ice cream to him and his companion Elder Southwick. We bring
food to them almost every day from members. Other than that, my companion
has been really sick!! So we've been stuck in the apartment as well.
I'm just sitting around reading scriptures and making phone calls all
day to investigators and members. On top of two sick missionaries the
sisters in our house aren't doing so good so they've been back and forth
from Tempe all week! It has been interesting to say the least. But as
for me things are normal! I'm blessed with good health! No more casts
for my arm, and no more craziness!
I've had lots of time to think and ponder about my mission. As I've
been thinking, I'm amazed at all the things I've done that before my
mission would of scared me to death. I've knocked countless doors,
talked with many strangers, and ate other people's food! I used to have a
fear of eating food from strangers and now it's just what I do. I've
also seen many miracles and numberless lives be changed from the Gospel
of Jesus Christ. It is truly amazing to see the change that is wrought
when people open their hearts to the Gospel. I have also thought about
how happy my mission has made me. I will never regret my mission, it
literally has been the best 1 1/2 years of my life! It has taught me
hard work, patience, persistence, charity, and most of all to trust God
with all my heart!
Some scriptures I want to share with you this week are Isaiah 41:13 "For
I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear
not; I will help thee’", D&C 35:3 "...I have heard thy prayers, and
prepared thee for a greater work." And 3 Nephi 5:13 "Behold,
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of
him to declare his word among his people, that they might have
everlasting life." These are some of the scriptures that have stuck out
to me this week! Send me your favorite scriptures and a testimony about
it please! I want to share them with investigators!
Baptism time! Eduardo Luzanilla was baptized Saturday night!
It was the most spiritual baptism I have ever been too! Before it
started he was so nervous and so he went into the chapel and prayed. As
the baptism started and we were going through the program he started to
cry. I asked if he was okay and he just cried. When it was his turn to
go, he got up with Hermano Rodriguez and went to the font. After he was
baptized, still standing in the font, he cried and gave Hermano
Rodriguez a huge hug! While he was changing we had a mini testimony
meeting about the Book of Mormon. When he came out he shared his
testimony! It was the most powerful testimony ever! When we finished the
program he hugged me and Sister Jensen.. Yes hugged. But he's like 64
and my grandpa so.. Haha. But, he goes "usted nunca me fui" which means
"you never left me". He made all of us tear up! He said he was super
nervous before his baptism, but after he felt peace like he had never
felt before! Ahh I love Eduardo! He's my abuelito (little grandpa). His
confirmation was awesome as well, President Zayas, who works at the
temple, confirmed him. It was super powerful.
Well that's a bit about my week, I hope you all had a good week! Write me por favor!
Con muchÃsimas amor,
Hermana Greenhalgh
